Mount Morris Offers Numerous Things To Do
Uncategorized April 13th, 2011Visiting Mount Morris can be exciting and fulfilling if you know what to do. For starters, check out the Mount Morris Dam. Built in 1952, it is the largest of its type in the East. It was built to keep the lower portions of Rochester and other cities from flooding. The visitors center has a large atrium, a theater, and a museum for your enjoyment.
For more excitement, Darien Lake Theme Park is ready to twist and turn you all around with plenty of rides and attractions, and Splashtown’s many water rides will cool you off. You can also try your luck at the Batavia Downs Casino and Racetrack, if you are feeling lucky.
For some history, visit the Francis Bellamy House. Francis Bellamy was the author of the pledge of allegiance at the age of 5. There are also many other historic homes you can view. On the sillier side, you can visit the Jello Museum. Learn the history of this jiggly dessert, and how Bill Cosby influenced its sales.
You can visit the Railway Historic museum, or take one of many wine vineyard tours and tastings.
Mount Morris has plenty to do to keep your whole family entertained.
