There are many things to do in and around Mount Morris located in upstate New York. Perhaps the most famous attraction is the Morris Dam built in the early 1950s to protect towns downstream along the Genesee River. The dam built at a cost of 25 million dollars has a walkway leading to the edge of the dam for observation of the speed and magnitude of the water flowing over it.

Located in the Mount Morris area is a working abbey where 33 monks devote themselves to the service of God and mankind. The abbey is situated on 1200 acres with an additional 1200 acres used for agricultural purposes to sustain the monks.
